Color change not consistent

Postby hritcu » Mon Feb 12, 2007 8:18 am

Just updated to the latest nightly and now all my panels are in two colours: white where files are displayed, and light blue everywhere else. This happens all the time, right from program start so it shouldn't be hard to reproduce, and it didn't happen in the previous nightly so something must have been changed in between. Here are some screenshots:

Strange. On the one hand, I know exactly what's causing that - we've added a lot of possible 'theme states' for the file table, on the other hand this really doesn't make any sense.

What would really help me would be if you could paste your user_theme.xml file, or at least the <file_table>...</file_table> part.

Thanks!

I never edited this file by hand (didn't even know it exists):

<theme>
<file_table>
<font size="13" family="Lucida Grande"/>
<border color="404040"/>
<normal>
<background color="000084"/>
<unfocused_background color="000084"/>
<hidden color="c0c0c0"/>
<folder color="ffffff"/>
<archive color="40ff40"/>
<symlink color="cc00cc"/>
<marked color="ffff00"/>
<file color="00f0f0"/>
</normal>
<selection>
<background color="00ffff"/>
<unfocused_background color="cccccc"/>

Ah, err... Woops, he he, my fault I'm afraid :)

Easy fix: delete user_theme.xml. It'll work just fine. This is the old format, I'm quite surprised that the latest muCommander build accepts it, actually. There's something dodgy going on there.

I'll look into it, but in the meantime just delete the file and restart muCommander. Once that's done, if none of the predefined themes suit you, I'd suggest copying mucommander.jar/themes/ClassicCommander.xml as the user_theme.xml and manually tweaking the file. The current UI works, but doesn't offer nearly enough customisation power. We'll be updating that next, but for the moment power users are advised to edit the xml file by hand.

Seems that it worked. I'll let you know if there are still problems here.

Hey there, I just figured out why your theme was so messed up. Not that very interesting for you anymore, but the bug has been fixed and will make its way to the nightly build. Hopefully other people won't suffer from it anymore.

Thanks for the feedback!
