Quick search? where?

I installed beta 3 and it says "New quick search with visual feedback, ...". I looked through the commands and the .xml files, but I couldn't find anything!

Quicksearch is a bit of a misnommer, actually. Maybe typeahead is better? I don't know.

It's not a search, per se. It's a feature that allows you to select files from your current pannel easily. Just type in the name of the file you want to work with, and the selection will jump to it.
That's pretty basic. It gets better, though:
- you don't have to type in the first letters of the file. Say you're looking for a word document, typing in "doc" will jump to the first file with doc in its name, which, in all likelihood, will be a word file.
- while in this mode, you'll notice that your current 'query' is displayed on the bottom left corner of the window, with a green check mark if a match was found or a red exclamation mark otherwise. While this is displayed, you can use up/down to browse through all the files that match your query.

It's actually even more feature rich than that, but I'll let you discover the rest. We feel it's pretty intuitive, and once you know it's there, you should be able to get it to do whatever it is you need it to. Of course, if you find that's not the case, we'd love to hear about that to improve on that feature.

Cheers,
Nicolas
