"-p path" cmdline creates folder

Postby helasz » Wed Jul 22, 2009 12:59 pm

Hi All,

I am new to muCommander. Congratulations for the great job!

This is a low importance (rather estathical) observation:
I found that although using "-p path-to-preferences" commandline option works as expected, at exiting muC it just create an empty folder with the default name. The only special circumstance could be the fact that I put the new folder in the same subfolder it should have been created in (in my case the installation folder), but with a different name (./muco). I did use version 0.8.3 for Windows (XP SP3).

best wishes,

helasz

Hi Helasz,

Thanks for taking the time to report this.
I've tried to reproduce it myself and haven't been able to.
Two possible explanations:
- this bug was fixed in the nightly build (you can download it from the muCommander homepage).
- I haven't understood the scenario you described.

Would you mind explaining precisely how to reproduce the issue so that we can work on fixing it? I absolutely don't mind if you assume I'm a bit dense and give too much details, in this kind of circumstances, the more information the better.

Ideally, you could fill out a ticket on http://trac.mucommander.com/ (use the same login / password as the ones you used for the forum). If you can't be bothered , you can also dump this in this thread, if possible including "Version information" data you'll find at the bottom of the About dialog and I'll fill the ticket out myself.

Thanks!
Nicolas

Hi Nicolas,

I did make a try with nightly build 3272. You are right, the above mentioned extra folder is not created in this version. Thanks a lot for your kind attention and your time!
