Mac OS X: copying resource forks

Postby DKroot » Mon Nov 03, 2008 9:20 pm

This post continues discussions in viewtopic.php?f=3&t=254&p=545&hilit=resource+forks and viewtopic.php?f=3&t=254&p=545&hilit=resource+forks#p545.

What I want to find out is : are there any plans whatsoever to support copying resource forks in the future? I'd say that it is a critical feature for a file manager on Mac OS X.
When you just copy or move files around, you don't want to lose any information.

Hey,

To be honest, no, there is no such plan. The reason is that Apple doesn't give us the tools we need to support resource forks. As soon as these are better supported, we'll work on making muCommander aware of them.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful
