Don't display files in active ftp

Postby ricnar456 » Mon Mar 17, 2008 1:56 am

When i connect to and active only ftp, i can see the folders but the files are not shown, see the pictures of total commander and mucommander in the same folder of the active ftp.
mucommander don't show any file and only certain folders.
I use ubuntu gutsy with the last mucommander of the repositories.

Hi,
Thanks for this detailed report. A bug about FTP compatibility issues in general has been filed in the bug tracker :
http://www.mucommander.com/cgi-bin/bugz ... .cgi?id=33

The current nightly build has improved FTP support and may (or may not) fix the issue you're experiencing. If it doesn't, could you please specify the type of FTP server you are connecting to ?

Thanks,
Maxence

Thanks for following up on this issue. Could you please file a bug at http://www.mucommander.com/bugs/ with information about the particular FTP server you're connecting to (name / version / OS) ?
And if by any chance you can give me access to the server, this will greatly help me tracking down the problem and hopefully fix it.

Thanks!

Ah, interesting! It's clearly a weakness of the FTP list parser.
I'll gladly take a look at and try to issue a fix for it. My email is maxence AT maxence DOT info.

Cheers,

I'm glad to report that this issue has been fixed. The current nightly build has the fix and it also be included in the upcoming 0.8.2 release.

FYI, the 'LIST path' command was used to list directories. On some servers, 'LIST path with spaces' without quotes around the path would fail.
The workaround is to issue a 'CWD path with spaces' (this works OK) to change the current working directory and then a 'LIST'. This is what most FTP clients seem to be doing to list a directory.
Note that this issue was not related to active mode and could also happen in passive mode.

Thanks a lot for providing an access to your server, it helped a lot!
Regards,
Maxence

PS: You can delete the account you gave me as I no longer no need it.

thanks, mucoomander is a great tool and this was a ugly bug.

PD:and the other bug (the FTP window and exit window appear blank when you open two times?) i think this is a related ubuntu versiion bug, but i can test in windows for see if the bug is only ubuntu related

the other bug is in ubuntu only , i try mucommander in windows and work perfect.

i show the exit windows the first time you click on exit is the screenshot 10, you cancel.

the second time you click on exit is the blank window of the screenshot 11.

this happen in all windows, from time to time a blank window is displayed in FTP windows, Exit windows, and other popup windows.

Thanks for the follow up and for the information about this issue I wasn't aware of.
I'll try to reproduce it under Ubuntu and fix it, I just hope it's not a Java/Gtk issue that's out of our control.

Have a good weekend,
