Hi, thanks a lot for making this app ! As Commander on WIN becomes more and more popular i still miss an app like good old DOpus on Amiga - which was the first of this kind of app......

Heres my wishlist / suggestions :

- being able to drag folders to the menubar as constant bookmark (most omportant)
- icons for folders and files
- GetInfo option containing all editable info such as Filetype etc...
- Customizable Shortcuts
- copying files/folders by drag&drop or moving them by like ctrl drag&drop
- drag and drop files from mucommander to other windows - such as Finder or Toast.....
- FTP,SFTP etc. connections (that would rock)
- FXP - you would be the first to have it in a great app
- implementation of stuffit deluxe for those who have it (basic stuffit for all)
- implementation of Toast - burning from a selection of files.....
- pattern renaming files by extension - something like all files 0001.jpg-0010.jpg to image1.jpg to image10.jpg

thats all i can think of right now !

Thanks again for making aproach to a real good app !!! Keep up the good work on it !!! If you need something related to 3D or GFX in general - let me know.......

Hi tdMf,
Thanks a lot for your meaningful suggestions. Some of them are already on my personal 'wishlist' :)
The most important ones in my opinion are (probably not in the order in which they will be implemented) : folder bookmarks, customizable keyboard shortcuts and FTP/SFTP.
Of course, I also paid attention to the rest of them.

Icons for files & folders have already been requested and even though I don't feel a great need for them, they would certainly increase readability and give the app a 'happier' look. Implementation should be rather easy, it's more a matter of designing the icons.

Your offer about helping for GFX is greatly appreciated and I will try to contact you by private msg.

Cheers,
Maxence

PS: I haven't had the chance to use DOpus since I was an Atari ST freak at the time. It is Norton Commander under DOS which later on got me addicted to commanders.

I just want to bump this, I agree with all of the above. Particularly the drag and drop copy - essential! I like the bookmark idea, too.
One thing I'd like to see (aside from a native OSX app  ) a 'shelf' to store items temporarily. I may be doing one thing, and run across a file I need to move/copy, but not want to interrupt myself. It would be good if I could drag that file to a 'shelf' (similar to the bookmark, I guess), than move/copy it later on when I think about it again.

Otherwise, pretty cool app, thanks very much (OS X user who always liked NC and Windows Commander).

yet another feature request

Great tool!

Shift + Enter on a JAR file should launch the application, provided that .jar files are correctly associated on your system.

I use linux and the shift-enter does not work. :(

Including the following way of shell execution would be cool: there should be an option to launch or open files by a shell command after double clicking / pressing enter on them. In most OSes and desktop environments I know, there are programs which correctly handle extensions when opening a file. For example, win's "start [filename]" command. Executing "start xxx.doc" in the command line results in opening xxx.doc with msword or another associated application. A counterpart for this in linux is "gnome-open [filename]" etc.

Thanks in advance

Just in case you were wondering, there is a cross-platform port of DOpus called "worker", runs on OS X via fink too.
