Change date seconds

Postby GeorgeV » Tue Mar 13, 2007 11:02 am

I use this settings:

<date_format>yyyy/MM/dd</date_format>
<date_separator>.</date_separator>
<time_format>HH:mm:ss</time_format>
<display_compact_file_size>false</display_compact_file_size>

The change date always set the seconds to "00", when I set the 15:02:14 for the file time.

Well spotted, that's a bug that we need to fix.
If it's any comfort, the seconds are properly set, they're just not properly refreshed :)

Hi GeorgeV,

I think the problem you described lied in the 'Change date' date field which used a different date format from the one you specified in the preferences. As a result, the seconds entered in the field were simply ignored.

That has been fixed in the latest nightly build : the date field now uses the date format specified in the preferences, for the following benefits:
A/ it is more consistent
B/ it allows you to edit seconds (if seconds were manually added to the 'time_format' string in the preferences file that is)

=> please let me know if that fixed your problem.

@Nicolas: I think the date is properly refreshed in the folder pane when changed.

Furthermore, a 'Show seconds' option will be added to the 'Date & time format' option in the preferences dialog, removing the need to edit the preferences file manually.
This option will be disabled by default as I think most people don't need that information (I for one don't, at least most of the time), but some people (you obviously) have a need for it :)

Cheers,
Maxence

Hi Maxence!

Thanks for the new version, the seconds settings in "Change date" works fine.

"Furthermore, a 'Show seconds' option will be added to the 'Date & time format' option in the preferences dialog..." OK.

If you develop the "Show seconds" option, then maybe the "Show century" option too.
